Work is well underway on the new hospital site which is located on the Fleckney Road, Kibworth (opposite garden centre). We have constructed the entrance road using approx 1,000 tones recycled materials, 750 tons of which came from an old factory bricks etc and topped with approx 250 tons of old road plainings (tarmac).
The field itself cost £35,000 including all purchase costs.
Work Done On Site so far:
On site the 3 large enclosures are near completion at a cost of £3,000 each.
The garden bird enclosures are being worked on, there are 4 in this block at a cost of £1,500 each.
Underground Water Tank.
We have installed an under ground water tank which will enable us to collect all rain water from the roofs and enable us to re-use it on site for pen washing, toilet (flushing) and also to feed the pond when is has been constructed. The cost of this was £8,000 but we will recuperate this cost in saved water bills.
Bases for Hospital and Education Centre.
The bases for the hospital and education centre have been laid at an approx cost of £32,000.
We are now raising the funds for the hospital side of the building , at present the estimated cost of this will be £28,000.
The hospital area will include vets room, intensive care facilities, baby bird and mammal rearing facilities and a hydro therapy pool.
Any help large or small is gratefully received towards this project!
